Maker Camp 2013

Applying the theme of 'Create The Future', one of the things we always wanted was to make the creatures that exist in our imagination to exist in real life. This can be done with robots of course!

During this Maker Camp session, we went on a robot adventure- going through the steps that you can follow to help create your futuristic creature.

Thank you to everyone who attended- and if you watched the recording!

Featured Robots:

RoboBrrd

RoboBrrd is a great way for kids to get introduced to robotics. Check out our documentation kit instructions here. You can also make it out of popsicle sticks, check out the Instructables!

Buddy 4000

If you are looking for a classic toy robot with an artistic flair, Buddy 4000 is the robot for you. Check out our documentation instructions here!

Maker Camp 2012

RoboBrrd had a great Maker Camp!
Check out the videos below for a recap!
At this Maker Camp hangout, you will learn all about RoboBrrd! It is an open ended project, as there are many ways to create your own RoboBrrd! We will discuss programming an Arduino and getting the servos moving, and move differently when there are sensors involved. Additionally, we will show off the various RoboBrrds and detail how they were built and what improvements there were from robot to robot!

We will be watching the hashtag #MakerCamp on Google+ for *your* RoboBrrd creations on Tuesday! We hope to see your imaginative and awesome creations!

If you want to learn more about RoboBrrd before Tuesday, check out our Supplies video below, more videos coming soon as well!
Maker Camp Success!

Thank you everyone who tuned in to the Maker Camp video and went to the junior camp hangout! It was a lot of fun, and definitely a big thanks to MAKE for organizing this!

Here was the code that we wrote on the air: RoboBrrd_MakerCamp.pde.

Here are the places that you can get the same servos that I use from: As for the photocell, you can get one from opening up one of those light sensitive night lights, or your local electronics store may have them. Here's where you can get them online: Hope everyone enjoyed the Maker Camp, and you can always catch RoboBrrd on the Robot Party each week!
